Frequently Asked Questions
Frequently Asked Questions
Here is a list of questions we typically field when someone is new to hunting with out outfit:
1. What does one typically tip on an outfitted trip?
I usually tell guys 12 to 15% of the hunt split between the cook and guide with the guide getting the majority. Keeping in mind that this is a service based business and its no different than tipping a waitress at a restaurant. If you get good service then a tip is warranted and if not then you may not want to tip or reduce your tip. I want my guides to work hard for you so that your time with us is as good as it can be and thus have a positive review of our outfit. I believe my guides will do just that.
2. What time should I arrive at camp?
You can arrive in camp any time after 2 pm the day before your hunt dates and take off anytime before 12 pm the day after your hunt dates.
3. What is the typical weather like during my hunt?
Best thing to do is look at the 10 day forecast before you depart. We are high desert terrain so our weather can vary a lot all throughout the year.
4. What caliber do you recommend?
I recommend a .270 or larger
5. What are typical shooting distances?
Archery is normally 20 to 50 yds. Rifle we normally shoot between 150 and 250 yds.
