Groups who choose this option must arrange their own accommodations and meals in the Tri-Cities, TN area. Our East TN hub is based in Johnson City, TN and this is a good area to look for accommodations. ASP will provide projects only.

HOW MUCH DOES IT COST? $95 GROUP REGISTRATION FEE PLUS $25 PER PERSON PER WORK DAY FOR PROJECTS ONLY (NO MEALS OR ACCOMMODATIONS PROVIDED).

ARRIVAL DAYS ARE AS FOLLOWS:

College Program (Spring Break Weeks): All groups work for 5 days. Arrive on Sunday, work Monday through Friday, depart on Saturday.

Year-Round Program (Sept.-Feb, and April): For each “Week of” trip, groups will plan to arrive either on that Sunday, working for 2-5 days, OR on that Thursday, working for 2 days. Occasionally, each center will offer a ‘Weekend Only' trip for just 2 days with Thursday arrivals only. This rotation with the abbreviated week for each center is intended to allow for staff recovery and project reset. Year-round trips from September through April are posted on the ASP web site as “Week of…” Or “Weekend Only” so that groups are able to distinguish between the two options. For trips that say "Week of," you are able to indicate Sunday or Thursday arrival within that week (during the registration process). 

TYPES OF PROJECTS:

Groups serving in East TN may be placed on home repair, new construction, or disaster recovery projects. We ask groups to remain flexible on the type of project based on the biggest current need, project timing, and skill level match. Groups may request a specific type of project, but should be open to other project types as well. 

AGE REQUIREMENTS:

Groups are predominately all-adult or college, but these trips are also open to intergenerational and youth groups (all volunteers must have completed 6th grade).
