ASP Flex:
A new way to serve with Appalachia Service Project
Since 1969, ASP has offered week-long summer service opportunities for volunteers to repair homes and build relationships in Central Appalachia. In 2026, we are excited to expand our new program track designed for groups who want a shorter service trip: ASP Flex.
What is ASP Flex?
ASP Flex is an abbreviated version of our traditional Summer Program, giving groups the chance to serve for three workdays while still experiencing ASP’s mission, community, and evening programming. Program Details:
• Available Weeks: Week 1 (June 7–11, 2026) and Week 5 (July 5-9, 2026)
• Locations: West Virginia and Kentucky (specific counties to be announced)
• Schedule: Arrival: Sunday, 2–4 p.m. 3 Workdays: Mon-Wed. Departure:
Thurs. morning
• Mission Fee: $225 per person ($75/workday)
• Evening Programming: 3 nights included (note: no community picnic)
• Other Program Features: All other aspects—including work projects, minimum age
requirements, and housing setup—remain the same as ASP’s traditional Summer
Program.
Why Choose ASP Flex?
• Perfect for groups with limited time or summer scheduling challenges
• Lower cost per person while still providing a meaningful service experience
• Builds the same connections, impact, and spiritual growth as our full-week program
The number of participants in your group may be increased, as availability permits, or decreased with confirmation from the Volunteer Department. Groups are expected to be conservative when submitting their initial participant count, as ASP allocates resources—including leasing centers and hiring staff—based on these estimates. If your group’s count changes at any point, you must notify the Volunteer Department immediately, as available spots may be reassigned to other groups. Participant counts may be increased at any time, provided space remains available.
